Visual Impairments

Northwest Education Services programs provide rich learning experiences for students with visual impairments.  Our team of professionals include teacher consultants for the visually impaired and orientation and mobility specialists who work directly with students and provide support to classroom staff in order to meet the needs of students with visual impairments.   The teachers, therapists, and teacher assistants at New Horizons North Ed SXI programs have been trained in Active Learning, an approach  to working with students with visual impairments or severe multiple impairments that supports learners to be active participants in their surroundings.  To learn more about how to support your child with a visual impairment, please refer to the websites below.
